until all bolts are in their proper holes and threaded. I don't typically remove the mounts unless I need to reseal an oil pan or get access to something within. Once you've removed those mounts you have to find the correct mounting orientation & position again (hence the elongated bolt holes on the mounts for adjustment) which requires every bolt to be in place and moving things around to a neutral position so things don't bind and risk cracking the bell housing.
